George Redstone (Blogger 2016/17/18)

In the film, Poor Guidance which is set in Bath College and the city of Bath, there is a 17-year-old kid named Kylian. His two best friends Riordan and Biddy make him a group of typical-British-college-mates. They have a lot of struggles essentially surrounding teenage life, but this would mostly be for comedic matters. Many people think that there is not a way that you could possibly make typical everyday life comedic, well they are probably right! There is a way that you could take three distinct characters, a teacher, and a couple of bullies and make it work though, hopefully.

Over the last couple of weeks, I've been in the Easter break. I tried to do work and get as much done as I could from Austria. I managed to complete my character break down and edit my script. I am now back from the break and will continue my F.M.P. There is not much in the way of me filming now. I am on a tight deadline because not everyone will be available to film in certain times. I am trying to get work done from home and then focus as hard as I can on this and Maths over the next two weeks. In the next week, I will have finished the editing and posted it to youtube. He struggles to understand the concept of jokes because he isn't supposed to be funny but yet manages to understand all the jokes around him. Riordan - Known for being a rascal and generally quite ludicrous. Full of life, he finds happiness out of every situation no matter what the circumstance. He likes to make jokes all the time even in the most serious of situations. This can be found as annoying to most but to his close friends he's the light of the group. Biddy - The youngest and dumbest of the group, he is often treated as a child throughout his life. In this concept art poster, I made my move, I made everything that is going to be in my movie clear. Apart from the age rating, I have made a joking catch phrase: " Watch the catastrophe unfold". I also included what te characters will be like. Popular, Ludicrous and Nerd. These are 3 different characters as they all have specific characteristics.  The title, POOR GUIDANCE THE MOVIE is reflective on the character's education. I think this is perfect since they are typically known as 'dopy'. The way that the characters reflect these actions are by portraying lesser intellect in their conversations.

Last week I had finished Assignment 2. Today (3/4/2017) I have polished off all my Assignment 2 work. This was a great feeling knowing that I can start Assignment 3 early. Most people are still doing Assignment 2 this morning but I'm sure they'll finish today. I feel that Assignment 3 is the hardest and will take the longest. I certainly feel that doing the third will be a true test of my ability in what I've learnt in recent months on this course. Even though it's the hardest Assignment it's also the best. It will be easier than the other assignments because 'You will never work a day in your life if you are doing what you love' . This is an admirable quote that I intend to use as motivation. I mainly want to focus on following the instructions in Assignment 3 and doing the work to my maximum capacity and put in the effort.

In Assignment 2, I looked at if I should use a laughing track or not. I thought that this needed addressing because it would be a big factor of my film because it pretty much shapes everything. That fact it helps the audience and encourages them to laugh is a big thing and is not to be taken for granted. The only problem without having it is the jokes have to be extra funny so that the film does still make sense without that track. The thing with humour is that you don't want to try too hard otherwise it won't be funny, you have to let it be natural.  I will also shoot my film like a movie, not a TV show. What this means is that there will be many establishing shots of an opening scene. Not like in an average sitcom TV shows, where you would be straight in and you wouldn't be able to do establishing shots because it is filmed on a set. I feel as if the decision I made was on a basis where I watched Gavin & Stacey and the Big Bang Theory because that's what peop
