COLLEGE REVIEW
In my second year of being at Bath college studying Media, I have had so much fun and learnt so much. I am grateful to the college for allowing me to come onto Level 3 and I have devoted myself for the whole two years that I have been here. I hope to have repaid the debt I owe to them for allowing me to progress to Level 3. I have tried my hardest in all subjects and even in what I thought was my weakest subject (Contextual Studies) I passed the first time. Maths has been great, I passed my practice paper and I have enjoyed my lessons. I also passed my functional skills Maths last year.
I am very eager to advance to Level 3, Year 2, as I will choose the 'Moving Image' path and it will be fantastic for my education and my hopes of going to University. I am sure that I will find it very informative and useful. My future job will be a Film Director as I am going to be persistent and passionate enough to achieve this life goal for a job. College is a big part and I will continue my best efforts for the second year of Level 3 since in this FMP I will be doing absolutely everything I can to advance to next year.
In my favourite subject (moving image) I feel I have thrived the most passing that first time and I had a lot of fun making it. I came across a problem when I did this because I didn't film it sequentially which is how I had planned it. I will need to plan my FMP better than this. In animation/interactive I also passed this first time because I did overtime on it. I did so much work in that sketchbook and my animation also, both were successful enough to enable me to fly past it. I hadn't made too many mistakes either, my feedback was all positive and I learned on this subject that the amount of work you put in is always going to affect the result. I worked so much on it that the turn out was brilliant. In Contextual Studies, I passed this first time and I thought that this was my weakest subject but I passed it with flying colours with very good feedback from my lecturer which taught me that even if I think it's my worst subject, I can still thrive at it. In publishing, however, I didn't pass it the first time. I had handed everything in but after re-evaluating my brief for this subject, we had both agreed that it wasn't good enough and that I can do better than this. I created my newer magazine which looks one million times better than what was handed in before. This taught me that after taking in feedback and going over your work, you can improve it and turn the criticism into something that looks so much better than the original.
