MOODBOARD
DOCUMENTARY
I have created a mood board that represents the shots I want to get and the type of thing I will be going for when I am talking about the history of these cars and all the things I want to talk about. If you could imagine a voice over in the single shots of the car then you will imagine a scene of my Documentary and you will understand the type of shot and design for the film I want. All of these are alike to 'Top Gear' and 'The Grand Tour'.
The same goes for the image of the men standing around the car and talking about it, I will definitely be doing this, but it will be shot near the end of my shooting days because I will know the most about the project so far at that stage so I will know about any other additional things that need to be talked about. I will tell people and educate them on things like this in this mood board where the Tesla has only 305bhp per tonne and the Caterham has 566bhp per tonne. As you can tell by the numbers, the Caterham is far superior.
There is also an image of a Formula 1 car which is actually a Caterham. They used to be in F1 but after some poor results and the financial demand, they stopped. I doubt they'll come back in the future because now they know how much it costs if they have a massive uprising in financial success that would be the only way they would go back in. This is interesting and it's another thing that people don't know about, so these are the types of thing I'll be going for. Facts that no-one knows about and the big trick up my sleeve is the community and the statistics that come with that.
ROMANCE
In my romance film, I want to make it like 'Love Actually' but a college version. A more realistic view for students. The shots I have on this mood board here are all ones that are ones that are alike in Love Actually. I feel as if this film would require me to have to try and not be copyrighted or anything like that if I were to take a line from their script. I have examples of 'couple stages' in their relationship and that is what I will do in my film. This is the reason behind the top-left and middle-right photos of anger. Couples argument are very common so that must be included in my film. I have the 'love part' which is the bottom-left, the top-right and middle-left photos. This is crucial to any relationship and this can't be left out. I then have, of course, the bottom-right which is when they first meet. This could be in any circumstance and it is very random so like in Love Actually I will include this.
ACTION
In this action movie, I am thinking about making, I will base it on 'Taken' and how the concept of that film focusses on a kid getting taken and the father having to find that kid. My story is about a college student not coming into college and the parents of that student are worried so the father embarks on a journey to find that kid. This explains the man on the top of the building with binoculars searching for his kid. This shows a very basic understanding of what the film is about, especially the tied up hands as well. This represents the kid being kidnapped and taken whilst the father fights to find this kid. The inspiration is Taken and so that is the reason behind having those 3 pictures of Liam Neeson who is the star of that film. the shot of that man walking on the middle-right of this mood board is a sample shot of one that I could use.
On this mood board for this horror film I could create, I have all the types of things that I want to put in it, shot wise. There is a lot of 'Dark Mystery' in all of these so I will do the opposite. As my inspiration is 'Winchester', I will try to keep the storyline the same. I want to make this relatable, however, I will make it set in modern day with college students as actors. I want to make this as modern as possible to make it even scarier when things happen. If it's relatable the audience will develop a bond with these characters meaning that they will be even more devastated when something happens to one of them. The audience will go home scared knowing that something like this could even happen in a modern day, making the film impact the audience and be a powerful short film.
