Evaluation of instagram
First of all, I am going to start with explaining how my page did. I succeeded in achieving my goal in by that I intended to get at least 3-5 followers and 7-9 likes (Avg). And hey! I did it. I am proud of this.
My feedback given to me by Jo and Gemma was to have a nice logo that stands out and also to have an iconic (nice) background in every photo. I completed this task by thinking hard about where I was going to go to get that iconic and nice background by going to the famous Victoria park, a lovely lake in the park and finally skate park that everyone uses in the whole city. These are iconic to the world and tho the people of Bath. I like how they turned out but I did originally have a plan to go to the Royal Cresent bu the photo was blurry and I didn't want to include that sort of quality on my page, it could let it down.
Through this project, I have learned that there is a whole lot more to Instagram than I originally thought. I think this because I found out that actually, people do put a lot of thought into what photos they like. This was found by my classmate telling me how the best photo did so well (picture above). Also, the adobe programmes were used in this and I used that for every image and learned new ways to change and help adapt an image t the audience's appeal. The other thing I have learned is that there is a lot of different people on Instagram. From celebrities to ordinary people but it did get a professional gymnast comment on one of my images. This just goes to show that anyone can see your photos and this means that you have to be careful on what you put up. But, the best thing about that is that even professional gymnasts look at newer channels content. I'm proud that he picked mine out. I'm sure the hashtags helped appeal and reach someone like that as well.
He said " It is a great action photo that has been modified a lot in Photoshop and then added to that by using Instagram's filter (Black and White) which is what is so great about that. You can see the person who made this has put a lot of thought, effort and skill into this. The end result looks great because of that! "
I took into account that Instagram users would think this way and now I know that this is the key to being successful on Instagram. This helped me also understand what filter people like because on my other black and white photo that got 8 likes on, people like that particular filter.
If I were to change one thing it would be that I would not be jumping in my photos instead have a pose. The whole jumping thing was great and worked well but it was very hard to capture and simply, do. I think I would probably just pull a dynamic pose perhaps using the environment. So maybe hugging a tree or pretending it was falling on me by twisting the camera perhaps. But I liked the way it turned out, though.
