A1, 1.

I came up with a sum total of 4 ideas.

Documentary

Scenario/Idea:

A documentary contains a lot of real things filmed at the moment and not scripted like a movie like vox pops and interviews. In my particular idea, I thought about how I could make one based on Caterham's and developing peoples knowledge about them. I would like to shed a light on not just my favourite car but also, something that could inspire people. This is a car that goes from 0-60mph in 2.75 seconds! I want to allow the audience to respect this car and develop a connection through this documentary. Not just that, but being knowledgeable on the matter for I find that this is a great subject for people to know about. Here is a mode developed spider-diagram:

Positives
I think this idea is strong, for the fact that there is a lot of potentials to build on with this. I can already see this happening since I find that it will be the most practical of the four to film. I hope to accomplish a connection with the audience over these cars and a lot of that will come from the facts. There are so many facts & stats out there for me to find about Caterham's that I don't know already, and that is what I will research. I also think that since I can film this at home, the chances and likelihood of me expanding my range in filmmaking skills will definitely be extended and expressed through this project.

Negatives
Filming this car will be difficult, especially moving shots. I will have to create many, many different shots and have the driver of the car, go back and drive through again for the best shot possible. Not just that but the locations will be hard to film at if they are busy on the day I decide to shoot because I will need a relatively open road for this to be shot well to focus on the car.

Romance

Scenario/Idea

I want to create a feel-good film as I have never attempted this before. The story would be similar to 'Love Actually' in as much as there would be a happy ending, funny and realistic. Making films relatable means quite a lot to the audience because they share a connection with those characters on the screen. I feel that this idea can't be developed more, however, since the concept is already taken from another film and it could be effectively copying that.

Positives
I will undertake a new process, something that I have not done before so it could turn out to be a great challenge for me. The fact that the film has to have a feel-good factor to it will be rewarding if executed correctly. A PG rating will also widen my audience to as many viewers as possible.

Negatives
This idea will be tough to develop, especially since the story will be developed on something that has already been made. I don't like to copy so I will need to come up with my own version of 'Love Actually'. This makes this idea weak for me so I'm not confident in taking it further, the reason is, I don't feel like I have the experience of making feel-good factor films. If that doesn't get executed, the film will look terrible.

Horror

Scenario/Idea

Having watched Winchester, I think that I will need to film at a scary location since that does a lot of the work for you because it adds to the scare-factor. I think that my take will be different, however, since I think that I will want to make it relatable and film in a modern house. The fact that it is relatable makes this a lot scarier for the audience. This house will be darkened and have adjustments as well. The main story will be three teenage kids are going home from school, suddenly they go home and their home is now haunted.

Positives

There will be jump scares which are great or films because they look very impressive/professional. The best thing about this project will be the filming location and if it is creepy/scary. I will need young actors and if they are good then they will boost the look of the film.

Negatives

If the jump scares aren't scary then this film will be effectively useless. I hope that this gets executed since this idea is quite strong. I need to get the house and props looking professional since if all these things aren't right they will let me down massively. I will need that dark filter to add more mystery causing it to be more of a 'Scary-film'.

Action

Scenario/Idea

In this idea, I will create a college version of 'Taken'. This leads this film on to be a thriller as well as action. I will incorporate comedy as well as that because it can't be all doom and gloom. The filter will be lighter in the happier areas and a lot darker in the scarier areas of the film, not too dark of course.

The idea is that there is a consistency in students missing in college and their teachers are getting frustrated. It turns out that after a lot of internet digging from a worried parent they are taken and 'wanted' throughout the city. The mystery continues. A father of one of these kids wants to solve this and takes it up with the board and teachers at college to solve this problem so he tries. He tries and tries to find answers but can't. He takes a wrong turn down a dark alleyway where a recurring character appears and attacks him. He must be the man with answers since he is now a theme in this film. Eventually, he gets to the bottom of the situation through this character and the father is rewarded by finding all the missing kids and getting them home safely.

Positives

This could have real potential since it has been proved through 'Taken' that the idea works. I like how mysterious it is and the fact it switches to a comedy factor. The filters will play a part in that too. The fact there are going to be jump scares mixes the idea up and will make people more pay attention.

Negatives

The idea is 'Taken' from another film which means it is ultimately copied. I don't like doing that as said before about the 'Romance' film idea. If the jump scares don't work and the comedy isn't funny the film will not look great. Although I feel this is a decent idea as needs development to not make it a carbon copy of 'Taken'.
