Second Cover

For a second magazine cover, I created something I think actually works a bit better. The best thing about this cover is I've had a lot of compliment by random people who have seen my previous cover and told me how it was stronger than the other cover. The fact it is symmetrical helps along with the hardcore look on Henry Cavill's face. The suit and colour are all darker explaining the theme of the cover. It is also different in the fact that the '+' is now "Exclusive Interview With Henry Cavill" instead of it being in the red circles that Empire have and that is the only thing that is missing.



The title of the cover is daring and it goes with the harsher tone of this alternate cover. It is a bold and stand out claim that stands out and allows an appreciation for the image behind it that has the same expression.

The 'Empire' is also different as a pose to the 'M, P and I' drooping over the shoulders like the other one did. This time they are fully behind him and cut out better. This puts 'Superman' at the forefront of your attention along with the title and the plus.

Opinion from pitch My pitch was great! I know that I must be more vigilant and thoroughly plan my project out, and I will up my game to aim for the Distinction grade. I know it went well because I knew my point was getting across. The point of this film is the fact that the 'Caterham' is an under-rated underdog supercar that people have overlooked. Or just simply that people don't know about it. So I will teach them not just about the car but the community and the whole prospectus. 60 Seconds

I liked making this film but at the start, I was aiming for a comedy and I guess it is a bit of both.  From target 3.1 I learned new and interesting shot types such as, a low angle looking up and the high angle looking down which are great to use because they show how a character is feeling. For example, the low angle looking up can show that a character is feeling intimidated and a high angle looking down is the person providing the argument. I learned this through watching 'A few good men" in the "You can't handle the truth" scene.  In my film, I use the low angle facing up to the girl so the guy in the chair was feeling intimidated. For the product assessment, I have asked 4 people to write a short paragraph stating what was good and bad about my film and what I could change. I did this not only because the brief requires it but out of personal interest to see what people made of my film. I was very intrigued by what they thought of it and not for them to just say 'good' but go into detail and perhaps pick my film apart. This method has definitely proven worthy in the past as I have had much feedback on previous short films explaining not only what was wrong but why it was wrong which helped me learn a great deal about me as a director and learn a lot more about my film. I have learned many valuable lessons such as; 'Always keep your target audience in mind' and 'keep the camera work as smooth as possible if it's a crucial scene.'
