Negatives for Wonder Woman
According to the 'Rolling Stone' website, the critics are saying these negatives about the film,
Opinions:
1. She gets manipulated constantly
2. She's judged on her looks
3. She's compassionate which is somehow treated as a weakness
4. She keeps pain to herself
5. Didn't break the gender stereotypes.
Also, men here are literally explained to be bad by their poisoning from Ares.
Conclusion & Reflection:
This film has told the world how Wonder Woman's character has and hasn't broken gender stereotypes. In a way, they are right as men are seen as the enemy for the first part of the film before Steve Trevor enters the film and turns himself to be a hero at the end of the film by sacrificing himself. Some of what they said was true however, she does keep pain to herself and she does show compassion which is clearly shown as a weakness by Ludendorff. The fact that this happened in the film can come off as unfair to women as being treated poorly for compassion but in her defence, she is being told this from the bad guy of the film who is always bound to say something like this. This leads to the fact she is "Manipulated constantly". This is true by being told her weakness she is manipulated by this and indirectly wants to prove him wrong. After all, she is the hero of the film.
