Mind map of ideas (F.M.P)

My first idea is for a sit-com film which includes a laughing track of a crowd. I think this idea is my strongest since I've thought about this the most. I don't think I'm stuck on it yet but an idea is certainly a strong option. I think that since the actors will be perfect for the roles (funny, clever, silly). It will set in and around Bath. I'll try to stay inside because I don't want the audio to be muffled by the weather outside and mark me down. It was always going to be inside, though.


The second idea I had was about a documentary of Bath. This idea is a tertiary option between my third idea. But in this documentary, I will do a vox pop with the people even go to a Bath Rugby match and do one with the players and also with the Football players of Bath City as well. I think that also I'd do a pano of the cities finest cities and tourist attractions and comment on the history. Possibly, I could do a little commentary of the huge NHS hospital, and how it is vital to the people living in and far around the city.


Finally, my third idea. This idea is my second strongest option. This is to make a film about a kid getting bullied and the film is based on his uprisal to stand up to them. This would be an emotional ride through which he is almost tortured every day by these bullies, and he faces this every day for years. Even when he goes home he gets texts. Possibly this would be a long shot but I believe I could make it work. The actors have to be unique in their build because they must be big bullies to make the crowd think that there is no way he could possibly stand up to them, giving the emotional advantage when he does.

Opinion from pitch My pitch was great! I know that I must be more vigilant and thoroughly plan my project out, and I will up my game to aim for the Distinction grade. I know it went well because I knew my point was getting across. The point of this film is the fact that the 'Caterham' is an under-rated underdog supercar that people have overlooked. Or just simply that people don't know about it. So I will teach them not just about the car but the community and the whole prospectus. I liked making this film but at the start, I was aiming for a comedy and I guess it is a bit of both.  From target 3.1 I learned new and interesting shot types such as, a low angle looking up and the high angle looking down which are great to use because they show how a character is feeling. For example, the low angle looking up can show that a character is feeling intimidated and a high angle looking down is the person providing the argument. I learned this through watching 'A few good men" in the "You can't handle the truth" scene.  In my film, I use the low angle facing up to the girl so the guy in the chair was feeling intimidated. For the product assessment, I have asked 4 people to write a short paragraph stating what was good and bad about my film and what I could change. I did this not only because the brief requires it but out of personal interest to see what people made of my film. I was very intrigued by what they thought of it and not for them to just say 'good' but go into detail and perhaps pick my film apart. This method has definitely proven worthy in the past as I have had much feedback on previous short films explaining not only what was wrong but why it was wrong which helped me learn a great deal about me as a director and learn a lot more about my film. I have learned many valuable lessons such as; 'Always keep your target audience in mind' and 'keep the camera work as smooth as possible if it's a crucial scene.'
