Name: JJ 'POP' Darnett

17 yr old has got dad lives at home with mum and got a baby sister. His only weekness 
 Born and raised in south london
In a gang and wants out
Has special skills 
Goes rogue into destroying all gangs and uses his gang to feed him info without them knowing that he's going rogue.
Doesn't need any help
trying to fund family
A vigilante
He has his best friend believe that he is a loyal member of his gang but doesn't realise that he is rogue
Eventually, he tells his born and raised best friend and he swears to secrecy.
His friend wants to help him but his mum is worried sick that she never sees him anymore.
Charlize is African (mother of JJ and child Lula)

Opening scene:
Sweep of south London

[JJ gets home]

JJ: "Hi mum, Whats cooking?"
Charlize: "Hello my son, your favourite is on tonight!"
JJ: "Pizza?"
Charlize: "Nooooo"
JJ: "Burgers?"
C: "Don't be beige! Think boy"
JJ: "Ughhhh, Fish and Chips?"
C: [sighs] "No.....Salmon! Good for your brain"
JJ: "Yeah, um that's not my favourite"
C: "Pizza is not good food, you must be accepting of what I have to offer. We might not have much in the future......Plus, you love salmon!"
JJ: "Ait fine. You got me. Salmons my favourite" [unhappily and shake head, walk away]
C: "One day he will learn not to speak to his mother like that"

Opinion from pitch My pitch was great! I know that I must be more vigilant and thoroughly plan my project out, and I will up my game to aim for the Distinction grade. I know it went well because I knew my point was getting across. The point of this film is the fact that the 'Caterham' is an under-rated underdog supercar that people have overlooked. Or just simply that people don't know about it. So I will teach them not just about the car but the community and the whole prospectus. I knew this was getting across since my presentation was explaining it. Ed told me that my presentation was good so I could tell he knew what I wanted to do. I told him about the community and it says in my presentation that it exists. I hadn't told him statistics yet since I am saving that for my film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKNi9IYfMTc In my 60 second video, I chose to go with tension as my genre. I haven't tried tension and it was something I wanted to do. I liked making this film but at the start, I was aiming for a comedy and I guess it is a bit of both.  From target 3.1 I learned new and interesting shot types such as, a low angle looking up and the high angle looking down which are great to use because they show how a character is feeling. For example, the low angle looking up can show that a character is feeling intimidated and a high angle looking down is the person providing the argument. I learned this through watching 'A few good men" in the "You can't handle the truth" scene.  In my film, I use the low angle facing up to the girl so the guy in the chair was feeling intimidated. This gives my film a twist because you don't expect the guy in the chair to be intimidated since he is giving the girl orders. I tried to crea

For the product assessment, I have asked 4 people to write a short paragraph stating what was good and bad about my film and what I could change. I did this not only because the brief requires it but out of personal interest to see what people made of my film. I was very intrigued by what they thought of it and not for them to just say 'good' but go into detail and perhaps pick my film apart. This method has definitely proven worthy in the past as I have had much feedback on previous short films explaining not only what was wrong but why it was wrong which helped me learn a great deal about me as a director and learn a lot more about my film. I have learned many valuable lessons such as; 'Always keep your target audience in mind' and 'keep the camera work as smooth as possible if it's a crucial scene.'
