In the primary research, I would need to make such things as surveys, focus groups and looking up other ways to get a better understanding of other peoples opinion on my work and ideas. I believe that the best way to get people's honest opinion would be a focus group because unlike a survey they have the option for open answers. This is key to honesty, variety is the best way I will get any idea of the goods and bad things about my ideas of my project. The concept of getting everyone to concentrate and give answers is hard because when you are with your friends it's tempting to drift off subject.

In a survey, I would include questions like do you think you'd what my film if it had a such-and-such actor for a certain role. Also, I am not able to do all the comedy on my own. I might need to involve some of the popular internet trends to get people to relate and to laugh. Asking the actors to help along with knowing their role is what I will hope for them to do. The basic reason for me asking them to help is for them to use their acting skills to make the jokes funnier. I will ask people what they find funny to seek out different jokes. This really could prove useful to me because I don't want the jokes to be bad.


I don't think I want to make the film too long but most sitcoms are usually 10 minutes to half an hour. I want to aim around the 15-minute mark. I need to think about the way some jokes could be intertwined with typical college English banter and worldwide internet jokes. This way people will find the jokes relatable, and things people can relate to are usually funny.

 In the start of my primary research, I told myself that I would make a survey to get opinions for my up and coming sitcom film. I think that there is a possibility that I could get a lot of helpful responses and help towards the making process. I hope that this survey helps me determine whether I should include such things as internet jokes and typical English banter combined or perhaps whether people think that a background is important to a comedy. I ask for their opinion in terms of what the best part of a sitcom is. I think this is the most important question so I saved it for last.

The story will be about as I said 3 teenage college typical kids getting along in life, this is a good idea according to the results of the survey. I am supported going forward since all my ideas and answers to the questions that I need to know have been given to me.

Opinion from pitch My pitch was great! I know that I must be more vigilant and thoroughly plan my project out, and I will up my game to aim for the Distinction grade. I know it went well because I knew my point was getting across. The point of this film is the fact that the 'Caterham' is an under-rated underdog supercar that people have overlooked. I liked making this film but at the start, I was aiming for a comedy and I guess it is a bit of both.  From target 3.1 I learned new and interesting shot types such as, a low angle looking up and the high angle looking down which are great to use because they show how a character is feeling. For example, the low angle looking up can show that a character is feeling intimidated and a high angle looking down is the person providing the argument. I learned this through watching 'A few good men" in the "You can't handle the truth" scene.  In my film, I use the low angle facing up to the girl so the guy in the chair was feeling intimidated. For the product assessment, I have asked 4 people to write a short paragraph stating what was good and bad about my film and what I could change. I did this not only because the brief requires it but out of personal interest to see what people made of my film. I was very intrigued by what they thought of it and not for them to just say 'good' but go into detail and perhaps pick my film apart. This method has definitely proven worthy in the past as I have had much feedback on previous short films explaining not only what was wrong but why it was wrong which helped me learn a great deal about me as a director and learn a lot more about my film. I have learned many valuable lessons such as; 'Always keep your target audience in mind' and 'keep the camera work as smooth as possible if it's a crucial scene.'
