S.M.A.R.T TARGETS

1. The brief

- Take time at the outset to ensure I understand what is required from the brief and ask questions
- Make my work of top quality by checking and getting feedback before submission
- Do research to help any points I want to make - provide evidence of my research

I think this is achievable since the brief is crucial and so I feel like the way I will make it any good will be to work from home, and from there, make my work of top quality but I will do research to help me.

I will like to get this done by the deadline of the brief.


2. Ask more questions and contribute in lessons

- Ask 2-3 question minimum per lesson
- Work hard in focus groups to be very crucial to the contribution of the group - evidence of this will come from feedback
- Have original thoughts of my own not borrow others ideas - measurable

I will contribute in lessons if I ask more questions from the teacher for help. This will result in me working hard and contributing to a focus group or contributing to class in general. When working on my own or in a group I should have original ideas and not just steal from other people.

I would like to achieve getting into the flow of this by the deadline of this brief.



3. Personal Development

- I need to work on this in my own time at least 2 hours per week
- Focus on work and finish something I started in class
- Stay up to date on the brief - ask more questions - check nothing changes - keep up with class


I want to focus on my work by finishing up work I did in class either by staying behind after class of working from home this way I will stay up to date on the brief.

I would like to accomplish being used to this by the start of the first few weeks at college.

Opinion from pitch My pitch was great! I know that I must be more vigilant and thoroughly plan my project out, and I will up my game to aim for the Distinction grade. I know it went well because I knew my point was getting across. The point of this film is the fact that the 'Caterham' is an under-rated underdog supercar that people have overlooked. Or just simply that people don't know about it. So I will teach them not just about the car but the community and the whole prospectus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKNi9IYfMTc In my 60 second video, I chose to go with tension as my genre. I haven't tried tension and it was something I wanted to do. I liked making this film but at the start, I was aiming for a comedy and I guess it is a bit of both.  From target 3.1 I learned new and interesting shot types such as, a low angle looking up and the high angle looking down which are great to use because they show how a character is feeling. For example, the low angle looking up can show that a character is feeling intimidated and a high angle looking down is the person providing the argument. I learned this through watching 'A few good men" in the "You can't handle the truth" scene.  In my film, I use the low angle facing up to the girl so the guy in the chair was feeling intimidated. For the product assessment, I have asked 4 people to write a short paragraph stating what was good and bad about my film and what I could change. I did this not only because the brief requires it but out of personal interest to see what people made of my film. I was very intrigued by what they thought of it and not for them to just say 'good' but go into detail and perhaps pick my film apart. This method has definitely proven worthy in the past as I have had much feedback on previous short films explaining not only what was wrong but why it was wrong which helped me learn a great deal about me as a director and learn a lot more about my film. I have learned many valuable lessons such as; 'Always keep your target audience in mind' and 'keep the camera work as smooth as possible if it's a crucial scene.'
