Walking GIF

In making this animation I really enjoyed finding a design to make and use as the character to walk with. I thought of using a stick man but I don't think that would have looked very good. I like the design I chose because it is like Mike from monsters inc. only my character has two eyes and no arms.

I also really enjoyed making this because I like making animations, there is something about it that I find so enjoyable. I think it is because it's like making a short 5-second mini-movie and I also love Moving Image and making movies. I think it is a matter of the fact that I find stop-motion fun and so when I made this using Photoshop I could make all the intricate and detailed adjustments I wanted. Like making the circle more perfect for example.

The things I struggled with was that it was time-consuming and I only had 1 lesson to do it so, I couldn't make all the adjustment I wanted simply because there wasn't enough time. This didn't stop me however because I still paid a lot of attention to detail whilst making this.

I found the fact I used Photoshop for the first time making a GIF confusing because apart from putting photo's in from photobooth for that short GIF I hadn't gotten used to using this app to make it. This was new to me and so when I used Photoshop I was confused with layers and how to add frames in without having to delete the current ones I had. It was only until the end when I realised that you had to complete using layers to them make them into frames to then form the GIF.

Finally, I struggled with executing the legs and circle. I wanted to use the Ellipse tool to make the perfect circle but Photoshop didn't like it so I had to hand draw them. I tried using a Wacom Pad but it wasn't convenient for making frames and layers and generally using the computer. I think if this was made in InDesign I would have made it better, but that wasn't the task so I tried my hardest to get a good outcome and make a good GIF.
